Maggot debridement therapy (MDT), which lost its importance after discovering antibiotics, has recently come to the fore with increase of antibiotic resistance. MDT, widely used in human medicine, had limited use veterinary medicine. The material this case report was a 5-month-old Doberman dog that bandaged due fracture left hind toe. It got information bandage leg area wet and remained on wound for five days. As result, foot turned into macerated tissue gas gangrene formed. gangrenous amputated from upper 1/3 femur. After surgery became an infected did not respond therapy. research planned investigate efficacy MDT wound. For purpose, sterile first second instar larvae Lucilia sericata were used. administration done six days amputation procedure. maggot application repeated 24 hours, other two applications 48 hours intervals. application, it observed amount discharge gradually decreased wound, rapid healing detected area. treatment successfully treated through L. larvae’ characteristics, promoting healing. This suggests may be future, as is cheap, effective, natural easy-to-apply method.
